The Oxford Academic Health Partners (OAHP) works across five University and NHS partners, leveraging the local and national influence of our Board members to connect, strengthen and transform our academic health science partnerships. Together, we continue to set the standards globally for research excellence and health and care delivery.
Our vision is of a vibrant, fully integrated health innovation ecosystem across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and beyond – one that responds rapidly to health and care challenges, translating bold ideas into better lives for everyone.
Our partners
Oxford’s universities and NHS partners combine expertise and resources to tackle complex challenges that no single organisation could solve alone:
- Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust
- Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Oxford Brookes University
- University of Oxford
- Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley.
We also bring together leadership from the NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board and the NIHR infrastructure programmes hosted in Oxford, including the Biomedical Research Centres, Clinical Research Facilities and the Applied Research Collaboration.
How we are funded
OAHP is funded through subscriptions from each of our five core Partners. OAHP is hosted by the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
In addition, OAHP has a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with legal independence from each of its partners, established in 2017. The Charity specifically supports activities aligned with the development of research capacity and capability amongst all staff, particularly nurses, midwives, the allied healthcare professions, pharmacists and healthcare scientists.
