Professor Keith Channon

Keith Channon is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals and is Field Marshal Earl Alexander Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford. He directed the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre between 2010 and 2018. Keith was appointed as the Head of the Radcliffe Department of Medicine in the University of Oxford in April 2022. Keith trained in cardiology in Manchester, Oxford and Duke University before returning to Oxford in 2000 where he now co-directs Oxford’s British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence. Keith was Chairman of the British Atherosclerosis Society, and is an NIHR Senior Investigator and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Keith was appointed as Director of the Oxford Academic Health Partners in December 2019.
