Dr Harriet Teare

Harriet Teare, Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer

Dr Harriet Teare joined as Chief Operating Officer on 8 September 2025 and her career to date has spanned the interface between health, science and policy, with the common thread being how to translate research findings to benefit patients and individuals. She was most recently the interim Director of Partnerships at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), where she led the national partnerships and policy teams, to enable partnership and alignment across the health and life sciences ecosystems.

Harriet originally trained as a chemist, with a DPhil from Merton College, Oxford, developing novel approaches to access fluorine-18 radiotracers for use in PET imaging. She has held research positions at the Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technologies (HeLEX) (in Oxford and at Melbourne Law School), and RAND Europe, and was Programme Director for the UK SPINE, which looked to establish a drug discovery pathway for treatments for multimorbidity by targeting the hallmarks of aging.

Harriet is a participant in Homeward Bound, a global leadership programme for women and non-binary people with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, maths, and medicine (STEMM). She was selected in 2021 for the 6th cohort, alongside 108 leaders from 28 countries, and participated in a voyage to Antarctica in 2023, as the face-to-face element of the programme.
