Simon Crowther
Interim Chief Executive Officer, Oxford University Hospitals
Simon was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in May 2024 and joined the Trust on 30 September 2024 from University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust where he was Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Chief Executive. He took up the post of Acting Chief Executive Officer on 1 April 2025 when Professor Meghana Pandit was seconded to the role of Co-National Medical Director – Secondary Care in the NHS Transformation Executive Team. Simon formerly held roles at Board level in a number of NHS organisations, and throughout his career has worked across different sectors and health communities within the NHS.
In his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Simon focused on areas including strategy, planning, improvement, innovation, and delivery and deputised for the Chief Executive Officer when required. He is currently Vice President of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Vice Chair of the National Finance Academy.
He will take up his appointment as Interim Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2025.
